Gas Station Attendant
Ask a local gas station to let you pump gas and wash customers windshields. Since most gas stations are self service, you will be offering customers a premium service.
What You Will Need:
- Donation buckets
- Large signs
- Rags (if you decide to check oil)
- People to People flyers
- Volunteers
Print up flyers about your program and explain why you are raising the money. Pass the flyers out at school, your parents work, and local businesses. Have a specified time that you will be at the gas station offering your “premium service.” This will entice the gas station owner with the promise of more customers in exchange for his cooperation.
Have large signs at the entrance to the gas station stating what you are offering, what it is for, and that you are accepting donations. Some people who have done this idea have also set a certain price per car. It is all up to you.
Volunteers
Ask your friends and family to help you out; between 8-11 people can handle a medium to large sized gas station during busy hours.
People to People Flyers
Download a copy of your itinerary and
program flyer
to post on the gas stations pumps and at the stations front door.
Success Story
A small school utilized this idea and raised $300 within three hours. They did this fundraiser a couple of times a year and only needed 7 volunteers to help out at the gas station.
